Index of Specials

Metro Connection has produced award winning specials like "Rock Creek Park: Gathering Place and Dividing Line," "20th Century Washington," "The Washington Opera Goes to Japan" and "An African Oedipus in Athens" - which followed DC's Shakespeare Theatre during its historic trip to Greece in 2003. This is not sound-bite radio. We strive to bring a greater understanding and appreciation of the Washington region wherever the story takes us.

An African Oedipus in Athens

This program follows the D.C. Shakespeare Theatre to Athens for a new twist on an old tale. The Oedipus plays were performed by an all African American cast in a centuries old theater on the south slope of the Acropolis... and David Furst was there.

The Washington Opera Goes to Japan

This award-winning program documented the first major tour in the Washington Opera's history. David Furst followed the company on their 18-day tour, interviewing the major players and taking in the unique aspects of Japanese culture.
